A dream I had - anybody know what it might mean?
I dreamt I was in a very strange, but beautiful place with waterfalls and walking amongst the rocks below them. A child fell into a hole between the rocks but it suddenly became this violent whirlpool. I saw this and with fear, debated on whether to help the child out, knowing that I would be sucked in and probably drowned as well.

I decided that no matter what, I had to try to save the child. I reached my hand to it (not sure if it was a boy or girl) and managed to pull the child out, saving him/her. I did not get sucked in, as I expected. Anybody have any interpretations? (I don't have any children, btw)

1. In your life right now is there a situation in which you are

trying to help someone, but it may place you in harm's way? Or you may be trying to do something good but it could cause you some difficulty? The situation may be an intriguing one, but a bit novel or different for you.

Some internal debate about how to proceed with this course of action? A course of action that you believe is a good one, but at some personal cost or risk?

At home, work, school, etc....

BTW the dream ending is a very good one. What ever the internal conflict you are dealing with, you are optimistic about the outcome and you believe you will do well, there is an inner confidence and strength there. But if it is as dangerous as the dream, I suggest you at least think twice about things!

2. I tend to be too nice to my abusive roommate at my own
expense, because she is unstable and I don't want to cause I scene. I am trying to get out of the apartment, but she wants me to stay a few more months because "it would be easier for her to wait until the end of the summer" I am having a hard time finding a suitable place, so I was considering obliging her, but I am not sure what kind of toll it will take on me.

In general, I tend to put others needs first, but realize that it's usually at my expense.

Thanks for your interpretation!

3. It is possible that you are meant to take a look at this dynamic.
Perhaps you are too other directed, at the expense of yourself. It is a balancing act. We can take care of others when appropriate but take care of self as well.

We are not meant to be martyrs and victims in this life. But we also have to do the right thing for others as well when feasible. It is a delicate balancing act.

I think you are smart to avoid a confrontation with your roommate if she is unstable. In the meantime keep looking for alternative living arrangements. And don't go from the frying pan to the fire, try to find something healthy and happy for you. Put the word out to as many people as possible that you are looking for a place to live. Keep looking in areas where you might want to live, or with the kind of people that you would enjoy.

Also make sure that you are covered legally if you have signed a lease with your roommate.

Good luck to you, I hope this helps.
