I just received the following message from a kind soul named "Sam" via Wishadoo (it comes in handy that others, beyond Glenn Beck fans, can reach out to us via Wishadoo when they aren't DU members as yet ;) ) :

I have a very odd request. A message, actually, to be passed along to the good folks at DU in the Astrology, Spirituality & Alternative Healing group. (Long and short of it: I'm a long-time lurker that can't donate right now to post it myself.)

My message is, quite simply, a song: Waiting For The End, by Linkin Park.

Normally I can't stand this band at all. Most of their songs strike me as being too angry, but in the past couple of months they released this. I find it to be a message of hope through dark times (and pleasant to listen to, though your tastes may vary).

Please share this with the others. As bad as things may seem in the days ahead, there is still hope for a better tomorrow. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it is just New Jersey. We just have to hold strong until we get there.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. May we all find what we need to get through these turbulent times.

This has been a trying few weeks. I am trying to just give it up to the universe and flow with Pluto instead of fighting it. Over the past few days I have been feeling that I need to make a serious change. I think I have an answer, it has been coming for a long, long time. Why it has taken me until now to seriously heed this, I don't know. :shrug:

I've never been a fan, and this song, on the surface, is dealing with the end of a relationship. A change that everyone faces at some point.

Yet it speaks to me on a deeper level than that. I'm surprised, and I'm listening some more, to hear just what it is that's moving me.

I have liked LP in the poast because they mirrored some dark times in my soul, and here they are riding the waves of collective angst again!

is this off the latest album? wonder what else in on it... i seem to recall hearing a recent release on the radio and it was really moving too.
I believe some bands and musicians really *do* have their finger on the collective pulse, and we need to hear this so our spirits can find resonance and move forward...

(been listening to bruce coburn -ripples in the stream all day...love songs and hippy music, ahhh) ;)
