10/10/10 10:10am ritual
This past weekend, there was a healing retreat outside our little village. I didn't know much about it when I signed up to go. I have heard of Little Grandmother, who was chosen by the Lakota Soiux elders to become a Wisdom Keeper. She held a daylong workshop which I didn't attend. She also gave a talk that evening and here is some of what she said.

2012 doesn't mark an end, but also a beginning. Do not be afraid. Yes, there will be turmoil and earth changes, but we will be alright. We are the ones we have been waiting for and it is time for us to work for the change we desire. There has recently been work to heal the wounds of the Earth in this way. The men and women of the Inuit tribe held a healing ceremony and lit fires at the top of the world (does someone know of any myths or legends about this? She indicated that was so.) And in this ceremony, there was a healing between the sexes. And now crystals are being returned to the Earth along particular magnetic lines around the world by the Wisdom Keepers to awaken the healing power of the crystals in the earth to heal Mother during the coming "storm". Although it is known that the Earth will survive us, it is not known if WE will survive us. She called for a return to the ancient ways.

The following morning we all returned to the retreat and Little Grandmother led the ritual to return the crystals. She returned the Sacred Feminine crystal to the Earth and did a binding ceremony and offered tobacco, tears, love and blood. It was a very simple ritual. Had it been held by some priestesses I know, it would have been VERY grand, but the simplicity of this struck me as so authentic.

So, Little Grandmother says the change is happening, not in the future or some far away place, but now and here. Be with the Earth and celebrate livingness.

1. I don't know about the myths surrounding the ceremony, WT, but
your post brought me to tears. It feels authentic to me as well. It's wonderful that you could be a part of this important ritual.

4. yes it was. I will carry it with me always
It is a strange feeling to live in the mundane world and carry the "other" with me as another layer. Not that I haven't had that consciousness before, but the concrete words by a modern Shaman gives it different meaning.

She talked about the energy of our area and it was another confirmation that we are in the right place for our lives right now. (We moved here just one year ago from a 2000 mile move of business and home--3 semi trailers to get here)

2. I've watched videos and read about Little Grandmother...

I would love to be with her in person as you were. Thanks for sharing this, White Tara. It feels absolutely wonderful. What a blessing.

3. She is so small and carries many heavy burdens
She is very resolute and seems to challenge the hardship of her position. I want/plan/will/might? to write her a letter. During the ceremony she offered her blood to the Crystal. But instead of using her wise blood, she cut herself. I know that the Lakota are very disciplined people and have very harsh ways (Sundance ceremony comes to mind) but in returning to the ancient ways, she "should" take the further step of going back to her Mother ways.

But it was my deepest joy to be able to speak to her, offer her my love and to hold her and give her comfort. I can't believe that I actually was there. It was really a fluke.

5. Is it ever a fluke, to find ourselves in the presence of masters?
