Anyone here ever had a Vedic astrological reading?

In Vedic astrology, I have a Sagittarius sun and both a Libra moon and ascendant. (In Western astrology, I have a Capricorn sun with both a Scorpio moon and ascendant.) Given what came out of my reading, the Vedic chart also works. (I have a really strong Saturn which would make me seem much more like a Capricorn.) I don't think that anyone would ever think of me as having a Sagittarian sun, but given the reading, I can see it.

How accurate does your Vedic sun, moon and ascendant seem as compared to your Western chart signs?

1. Hi IHAD....mine is really different

from my Western chart. My moon is Aquarius instead of Pisces, my Sun is Sagittarius instead of Cap, and my Asc is Gemini instead of Cancer.

Reading what they said about the Gemini ascendant, I should be tall. I wish! :) I looked at my star, and all of the other information and it just didn't seem to fit as well. My Pisces moon sort of defines me, and I'm not aloof (as they described an Aq moon) I don't think even though I'm a little bit shy at times. Much more of a Cancer rising there. I can see a bit of restlessness the Gemini rising would indicate, but in other ways Cancer is a better fit. I CAN see the Sag sun since foreign travel, education and spirituality are all passions of mine, but that could also be described in my Western chart by a Sag Mars and Pisces Moon in the 9th.

Probably TMI, huh? I hadn't looked at my full Vedic chart in awhile, so that was fun. I bought some books and tried to get a handle on it at one point but I never got too far. I figured maybe I should "master" Western astrology first, and that would probably take all the time I have left. :)

2. Big difference between Gemini and Cancer ascendants!

I had thought the same thing before realizing how strong Saturn is in my Vedic chart. I think that anyone who knows me wouldn't think of me as a Sag sun. The Libra part fits a little better. I don't like losing my Venus in Pisces, but Venus in Aquarius is what I'd prefer next.

I'm sort of in a period where I can't really focus that well, so I'm just flitting along. Skimming the surface of Vedic astrology for a little while sounds like fun.

You do seem as though you have more water energy than air.
