Blame the moon? Any correspondence to full moon and mood?
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 11:52 PM by bliss_eternal
I'm frustrated and at this point, emotionally exhausted.

Warning--(possibly whiny) vent...

I've been obsessed with 'why' this week. Why can't people see the way things are? The reality of the truth that is being presented to us? The way our basic human rights are being threatened, women's rights, minority rights, etc.?

I'm just so down of late. Today I am spent.

I meant to call back an instructor regarding a class I took last weekend, for fun--but just didn't. It was more enjoyable than I ever expected it to be--dh said he hadn't seen me smile like that in forever. So, I forced myself to do so tonight, now I am sitting here thinking I shouldn't have(second guessing myself).

:argh:

Is this the affect of the full moon? Or am I just a freak that probably just needs to take a break from politics because I'm getting too emotionally drained? (lol)

1. Phases of the moon.
The only text I'm aware of that discusses phases of the moon was a link that Dover kindly offered to an article of Dane Rudhyar's.
http://www.khaldea.com/rudhyar/astroarticles/lunationbirthday_4.php
(there are 4 sections to that article, the above is the last one)
It deals with moon types in relation to the birth chart, but there's no reason I can think of that they wouldn't apply to transiting moments, except, there's also an aspect relationship to your natal moon position that the linked text would fail to deal with.

Based upon my understanding of Rudhyar's ideas as he's presented them there, what you are experiencing is a full moon climax, a fulfillment related to what you have done in the recent moon cycle, new moon to new moon; however, you are also experiencing failures with what you perceive of the world outside of yourself, and are asking yourself, "Why?"

This fulfillment and frustration becomes what you need to let out and/or let go of during the next 13-14 days.

I believe that some of your frustrations are born out of cycles much longer than a 28 day one; though, its accepted in astrology that the moon often acts as a trigger for other planetary aspects and cycles.

Taking a break from politics is probably a great idea if you think it's what you need to do. Perhaps instead of second guessing yourself, consider remembering those moments in the class that made you smile, or you could simply give yourself permission to experience the other, frustrating feelings in full (as long as they don't endanger you or anyone else, including your computer).

2. On a personal note, although scientific studies don't prove it, I
really think full moon nights bring out the best and worst in people depending on which way they tip. Years ago when I was working the evening shift for MaBell as an "O" operator, I swear the worst nights with the most crazies calling in was on full moon nights. I often didn't even know it was a full moon because it was daylight when I started my shift, but when I got off after a bad night, sure enough there was a full moon out there.

3. I noticed the same thing when I worked customer service
(retail and later restaurants). The loopiest of the loopy seemed to come in with the oddest of requests, or were outright demanding and difficult when there was a full moon.

Thank you for your response, and sharing what you noticed, Cleita! :hi:

5. I used to work in the labor/delivery of a hospital...
we would bring in extra staff during a full moon, knowing that more women go into labor then than during the rest of the month. Also, it has been documented that more murders and assaults are committed during the full moon than other times of the month.

6. Wow--see, so it does make some people crazy!
Thank you for sharing this!

Do you still work in labor/delivery? (If I may ask a personal question)...

7. Yes. I worked in hospitals for years, and all the ER
docs know how crazy things can get with a FM.
