Feeling sick...

I have a cold, and my lungs are just rattling with congestion. It is hard to sleep with all that noise.

When I stand for too long, my legs feel weak, and I feel too warm, but am not running a fever.

It would be easier to ride this out if I did not have so much work to do this week. We have our annual Ogle County Democrats' picnic. It is our only fundraiser of the year. Several candidates will be there, too. We don't have many Democrats in this county, and it is nice to see them all in one place for a change.

I would like to see good weather on Sunday, September 13, so that people enjoy the day. I would like to feel better, too, because so many people are depending on me.

Can you send me some good vibes, and some healing thoughts, please? Thank you.

I remember the first time I came here. I had had a very disturbing dream about a nice woman I had gone to school with. I felt some guilt over not being able to offer her comfort when she died. You were all such a help.

Please don't hesitate to post when you need help. Personally, that's one of the main reasons that I come here. This forum is sometimes the only place that people have to go to not feel alone, and it's wonderful to offer even a small amount of comfort. I'm glad that it helps you.

5. Vibes and energy -- on its way

Try to rest as much as you can. There is something like that going around here, and it is a nasty one. My best friend had it, and tried to keep up working, etc. while fighting it -- don't do that if there is any way you can avoid it, because he just ended up sicker. Give in to it and rest if at all possible (delegate as many responsibilities as much as you can). That seems to be the quickest way to get over it.

This sounds like it could be more than just a cold. Especially the lungs rattling and weak legs part. Get plenty of rest and fluids. Elderberry, echinacea and licorice root all are proven anti-virals, especially for cold and flu.

If you start having serious trouble breathing, get to a doctor fast. The majority of the time, swine H1N1 is mild. But it can infect the lungs, and if it does it becomes very serious, very fast.

Remember, mucus production is a result of irritation or infection to your lungs. Look to see what you are coughing up to distinguish the color and consistency.

You should move this congestion out- with controlled deep breathing followed by a forceful cough. Mucus is also primarily made from your own body's balance of water, so drink continually, even if this makes you urinate very often. Keep the congestion mobile so you can cough it out!

I hope you are not a smoker, or are around this kind of irritation, meanwhile.

Finally, be good to your physical self so that you can be part of the solution.

10. Take care of yourself

If your breathing gets too difficult it may have turned into Bronchitis, which happens to me at times. I always have to see the Doctor when I get Bronchitis.
