Puppy in Austin needs home
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 07:11 AM by hobbit709
We found a puppy after the 4th-evidently got scared by the fireworks-on our street. We put up fliers and placed an ad. No response. Looks like he may be a shepherd/hound mix, about 3 ½ months. He got his first shots and dewormed at our vets. We already have 6 older dogs and they're not taking to him at all. He's pretty bright, is used to a leash, can sit on command. I can't keep him locked up in my computer room or the front yard and I can't bring myself to dump him at the pound. PM me for pictures and other details.

1. Go to YahooGroups.com
You will have to join up. But then search for rescue groups in your area. You can post to the groups. I found homes for three kittens that were dumped in my yard through a local rescue group.

3. I'm way too far north -- would suggest that you
post pics here and post this also in the DU Texas State Forum so that others in TX will know what you need. Lots of people at DU don't know there is a Pet Forum and won't see your post here.

And, of course, post pics & descriptions at vet offices and pet stores. Our local pound has a very active foster program - so if someone finds an animal, but wants them safe from euthanasia they can sign up to foster the animal and then the animal's pic goes in a scrapbook at the pound for people seeking pets to see.

Good luck!

5. Puppy update
He now has a foster home with a wonderful person and most likely will be adopted by her.
