The little girl I'm adopting this weekend!!!!
After a couple of months of bad news after bad news after bad news, I have a little consolation prize coming....

Her "Foster Mom" from the rescue organization took that picture on their way home from visiting us yesterday -- first time I actually got to meet her. She's SOOOOO adorable -- I can hardly wait!!

She has to be spayed tomorrow, so I'm hoping she'll be okay for us to adopt this weekend.

Meanwhile, to show how crazy this is making me, I just bought a pattern on ebay that looks like this:

Sure to make Stinky roll his eyes!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

1. How adorable!
Thank you for rescuing one. Tell us about her (name, age, breed, all the goods!)

The matching outfits are sure to be a hit in the Lounge.

3. Her info!
The rescuers named her Asia. They thought originally she was 1-2 years old, but the vet thinks she's only a year if that. Turns out she wasn't spayed, so that's being done today. She's a Shih Tzu, and was found as a stray in another state, matted and black with dirt and poop, poor thing!!

I found her through petfinder and luckily got my application in before anybody else!

5. Oh, she already owns you
Speaking as another owner whose pup came to her after an awful ordeal, I can tell you you will always see that matted and dirty poor little baby when you look at her.

She's so lucky to have found you. What a little doll.

7. Mine's a little of everything.
Seriously - we had her dna tested and they gave us our money back. (They can only determine up to 8 breeds in any one dog and Bella beat their test.) We think she's collie, border collie, beagle, basenji, coonhound and we haven't even made it out of the "C's" yet. LOL

She weighed about 30 lbs when we got her at 6 mos and even though she now weighs almost 60 and eats better than I do, she is still my little girl in my head.

The note that came with her from the woman who rescued her in PR read: "I rescued her in a big parking (sic) of trailers. She was skinny, full of parasites and afraid of people. Hungry. She is a little shy, loves to play with other puppies. Thank you for take (sic) care of her!"

Bella when first got her:

When does yours come home to you?

9. Wow! She's totally irreplaceable!!
She does indeed look like a mix of our border collie (mix) and German shepherd, and maybe some beagle... and maybe several other things - ha!!

I get to pick up my little girl this Saturday, as long as she's recovering okay. She also had to have a little cyst removed from behind her ear, so she's wearing one of those "Elizabethan collars" right now, and I'm told she's still sleeping a lot.

Now I have to ask: Did you memorize the note that came with Bella, or do you keep it near your computer? :D

10. Haha - you really want to know? (Dial-up warning)
A friend took this picture of Bella and my husband early, early on in our time with her. Through the magic of Photoshop, I added the text from the note to the picture and made a large framed print for his office the first Christmas we had her. That's how I could quote the text - I took it from the picture in my photobucket account. :)

I will keep yours in my thoughts for a speedy recovery. She's so little, the trauma must be very tiring for her. We will expect many pictures. :D

2. Shi Tsu?
She is lovely! She looks like the Shi Tsu my parents had for 13 years (except he was male). They loved that little dog more than just about anything and he was a definite character. If she is a Shi Tsu, they are very smart little dogs, and have big personalities.

4. Yes!
I've only met her the one time, so I'm not sure yet about her personality, except that she was pretty calm for a little dog visiting a new place with bigger dogs. She just wanted to explore. She likes to be held and sit on laps, though!!
