There's one small typo at the end but I'll fix that later.

7. She was very huggable.
She was like a big velvet bear.

5. Watched with tears in my eyes
We lost our big dog last year, and despite a new pup in the house demanding constant attention and generally being a joy, I still see Faust in his favorite spots, stretched out at the top of the stairs, up on his hind legs scrounging paper towels off the kitchen counter, waiting patiently for his supper, smiling when little kids came up to us in the street to pet him.

It IS hard living without them. Very hard. But you loved that great big dog and that great big dog knew it.

6. Funny you mention seeing Faust in his favorite spots
Twice I've heard deep heavy snoring in the middle of the night and Porky was the only dog we have that snored. And another time I was walking the two cattle dogs and a shadow passed by my side and I could have sworn it was Porky. I was watching the two ACDs so I know it wasn't them.

I can only hope that she's watching over her family...
