1. Jake is a handsome boy!
I know you must be so relieved to have him *home* - :)

I don't know why I had imagined him as a black lab instead of a blonde.

How is he getting around? Does he seem happier now? Has Annie reacted to him at all differently since his surgery?

2. He's getting around really well. He slips on the wood floor a little,
but he rights himself and goes on with it. Annie wants to play really bad - she is restless - so we throw the ball to her and she chases it, but then Jake gets all excited and tries to get into the wrestling thing they used to do. We are still trying to keep him kind of quiet, but he is just so happy when he takes the ball from her (actually she lets him have it cause she is so sweet)...we let them play a little. She seemed a little shy of him for the first couple of days, but things are back to normal with them.

3. It sounds like everything is going as well as they possibly could --
Maybe Annie was being a litte quiet around Jake for the first couple of days because she sensed he need a little quiet? Getting comfortable moving around again in his beloved home...

Thanks for posting the pics! Give Jake and Annie a scratch behind the ears for me -- :)

7. We laughed when we hit his ticklish spot...
he started moving his non-leg like dogs do when they are tickled! It was funny!

8. Awww! that's so sweet!
Isn't it nice that he has a loving family and a playful sister to keep him from worrying about that lost leg. I know he will do well and have a wonderful life regardless of his handicap.

You'll have a wonderful Christmas spoiling these beautiful dogs!!!!

9. Wow. Jake looks wonderful.!!!! I am so glad that he is home with those
he loves. I am sure that is the best thing for him. His sister is beautiful. He appears to be pretty comfortable, and adapting pretty well.
Please give them both a couple of extra ear scratches and belly rubs for me.

11. Will do...gladly!
It is kind of remarkable that she is so dainty and girl-like, where Jake is much more masculine looking.

12. aw. lovely. I've known of a three legged dog named tripod. Also,.
I've seen dogs with two legs, one on each side, who can run like the wind. They are heroes to me, like your dog.

13. I don't know if anyone said it on either of your threads yet
but thank you for not putting that beautiful dog down when you found out he had cancer, and then as soon as the vet told you they would need to remove his leg. So many people wouldn't take care of their dogs in extreme sickness.

Both Jake and Annie are super lucky to have you.

And, they look like awesome dogs.

17. That thought never crossed my mind.
Thank you for the encouraging words. There will be a time that we have to make that decision for him, but for today (and hopefully many tomorrows), we are lucky to have both wonderful furbabies with us and they're happy.
