Mozilla vs Internet Explorer and comcast.net webmail problem
when I sign into my webmail with internet explorer I am able to expand folders - when I put the pointer over the plus or over the word folder - it sees them as two separate entities (by the dotted box around the object)

when I tried to use mozilla - it sees the + Folders as one object and the dotted box is around both of them and I can not expand the folder -

is this a bug in mozilla or a setting? Does anyone know how to fix it?

1. Are you using the No Script extension?
If so, allow comcast.net to run scripts. Running FF 1.0.7 here.

3. I don't have a clue what your problem could be.
And I know getting answers from comcast is problematic. Sorry I can't help.

4. Guessing ...
Without being able to see the website in question, I can only guess.

With that in mind, I suspect the page has some ActiveX controls or some other non-standard inclusions that only render properly with IE. A lot of online banking sites had this issue until enough mozilla users complained and started giving their business to those companies that complied with standards.

The website for Cox, my ISP, has a similar problem. You have no access to certain functions, and others don't work properly unless you use IE.

This is the kind of situation for which the extension IE View was made, if that is the problem.

5. more information also calling comcast users with mozilla to create subfold
with IE - the path shows the arrow_open.gif and the arrow_closed.gif - so it is a separate object

the url in the address bar ends with sid=c0 with IE and opens and expands the folder so you can see the subfolders

the url in the address bar with mozilla ends with sid=c0# and doesn't open

then I tried copying the path url of a subfolder over to mozilla while viewing the comast webmail and entered - I can see the contents of the subfolder - the + changes to a minus - BUT - there are no subfolders showing on the left - so there is still no NAVIGATION to subfolders

not even sure what to use as a search on this problem anymore
tried expand folders, subfolders, comcast, mozilla, sid=c0, etc

any more ideas

it is a navigation problem in mozilla apparently but I have not found anything doing a search and I am sure others must have run into this

are there comcast user out there using mozilla and doing folders, subfolders without a problem ?????? Can you test this on your system and tell me if you can see expanded folders and click each one on your webmail viewing through mozilla

thanks

7. Fixed - had to download an .exe and restore default firewall rules
