Copying images with Firefox: am I missing something?
With IE I used to be able to copy images from DU and paste them in an e-mail, but Firefox doesn't allow me to do that. Is there anything I can tweak to allow this to happen?
Thanks!

1. Save the image to
your computer and then use the "Attach a File" function in your mail.

2. Just right click on the image
And choose 'copy image'. Paste into your e-mail. Easy.

3. This I know, but when I get
to the e-mail to paste, the paste button isn't functional. Thus, my dilemma.

4. Try CTL-V ...

Sometimes the key combo works with the menu is disabled for whatever reason.

If that doesn't work, the copy isn't actually taking the picture into the clipboard.

5. The menu sends it to the clipboard
but not in a form that anything other than graphics apps recognize. You can paste into a paint program, but not Windows Explorer, really annoying. It appears the developers took the feature request to copy and "paste into image editing software" hyper-literally.

7. Interesting ...

Thanks for the info.

I'd personally never tried to do that, so I didn't have a clue it wasn't possible. I always just save images then attach them to e-mails, or I copy the location for posting in forums.

Again, thanks for the info.

6. That's odd
It works for me. I'm using 1.5 beta 2 though so maybe it's something that is broken in the stable release.

9. The Opera browser copies images and the paste function works
I know if you are using Firefox, you might not want to switch browsers, but Opera copies and pastes images just fine. Right click to save the image to the clipboard, CTRL-V to Paste it.

I don't have to download an extension to get it to work . . . and Opera is a much smaller download to begin with . . .

Just thought I'd mention it . . . now that Opera is free. :)
