Help with my nVidia graphics card, please

I'm running a nVidia GeForce4 MX420 card. I just downloaded the latest software update, etc.

One of the supercool features on the card that I really like is transparency. It can make my taskbar transparent, as well as windows when they're being dragged. I can set the transparency level from 0 - 100% I keep it at 50%.

It works, and it's really neat. However, for some reason I can't figure out, sometimes it doesn't work. If I go in and reset it, it still won't work. I can't figure out why it stops working, or why it starts working again.

I've done some googling, but obviously in the wrong places. Help!
