1. Not Free but not too expensive
My friend uses People PC.
He likes it but has an old phone package and lives in a large city.
When checking on dial-up consider that many phone companies do not allow you to stay on the line for extended periods of time.
Also, check on the #'s you would use to access the dial-up.
Make sure they are not considered toll or long distance calls.

2. This is for our daughter who is on her own and barely making it.
Thanks for the info. I'll look into that! :hi:

She has no internet now. She's in suburban DC (NOVA), so there should be plenty of access numbers that are local for her. A low cost dial up will allow her to get e-mail and do some modest surfing.

3. I just checked. She'd have like 30+ access numbers.
Do you use them?

5. Here's a dial-up with 10 free hrs a month.
I haven't used dial-up for a long time but have helped friends set theirs up.
None of my friends wanted only 10 hrs, but this might be OK for her.
Juno was taken over by NetZero and if you google "Net Zero Free" you can check out their free offer.
Hope this helps.

8. I use sitestar - think they are on the east coast or that direction
about $14/month PLUS the phone bill - probably not worth it for somebody that has better cable possibilities. I mostly use them because my e-mail migrated there when they bought the last company that had it. Been following that for 10 years.

My Dad uses netzero or something like that.
