Youtube no longer works on DU ! Help!
All of a sudden my view of political videos just shows a big empty pink square.
I can get the videos if I actually GO to youtube, but I can't view them straight out on DU anymore.
Anyone got any clues?

I read somewhere that iTunes streaming can hijack videos so they only play on iTunes, but I can't find a way out of this and I've been trying for days.
I set up the Quicktime player to http mode. Still no nothing.

I was having problems with my graphics programs, too... they wouldn't open or import files, I changed that by changing the file associations, but this video thing has me stumped.

Please.... HELP!!
Thank you

1. Broken flash player is the usual suspect...
...try removing it, rebooting, then reinstalling it. Second favorite is something like script blocker confusing things - try turning it off (if you've got one) and see if it clears up...

4. Adobe Flash Player recently updated to version 10.0.42.34 (Today?)
Edited on Wed Dec-09-09 08:47 PM by Earth Bound Misfit
Link to update for Windows/w IE: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If you're running another OS/browser, this link will help you to download the proper version:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
.

There's an update for Adobe Air:
For Windows/IE: http://get.adobe.com/air/?promoid=BUIGQ

For other OS/browsers: http://get.adobe.com/air/otherversions/

Hope that helps, but you probably already knew this. :hi:

Also Micro$oft released several "high priority" updates yesterday that may or may not affect this problem you're having, if you're using an M$ OS.

8. similar problem, youtube doesn't run videos

But sometimes youtube works fine, sometimes it doesn't and gives error to update Adobe flash and/or Javascript

Adobe flash is current, so is Javascript (and enabled)

I tried disabling pop-up blocker, but youtube didn't work

I deleted temporary files, youtube didn't work

I ran defrag, and youtube worked. Yesterday.

Today, youtube doesn't work again.

I rebooted, then tried in both Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox. Neither browser will allow youtube to play.

Any other ideas, thanks!
