Is there anything that will launch all email accounts from one place?
Like a lot of people, I have several email accounts. Then if you include my wife, I guess we have almost 10 put together. Between Outlook webaccess for work, my personal domain, Gmail, my wife's MySpace, my ISP, etc.

Has anyone heard of anything like a launcher where I can just press a button and it will automatically go to the website for the email account I select (and perhaps even log me in automatically)?

1. Try forwarding the mail to one account
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 06:50 PM by Hokie
Many email services let you automatically forward a copy of any received emails to another account. I have a POP mail account with my ISP and I auto-forward all the email to my Gmail account. Gmail is great for this because it has an option that lets you reply from the email address to which the original email was sent. For example, if you had your email from [email protected] forwarded to [email protected] and replied to one of those emails the return address would be [email protected]. For my ISP the auto-forward option is on the web mail page.

I think Gmail also has an option to pull mail from a POP mail account. I know Yahoo mail does.

2. I may try that
The trick is discerning which account the messages came from then.

I've had trouble figuring out how to filter Gmail messages into folders, but maybe there is a way that I'm just overlooking.

Thanks.

3. I use Thunderbird
to automatically check 5 email accounts when I open the program. Two are regular pop3 accounts, two are IMAP and one is work email that I can read, deal with, but leave on the server so I can download a copy when I get into the office.

What I have done is set up the accounts NOT to go into global folders, but each into their own folder named after the account. For all of them, I get Thunderbird to save the password.

4. I just installed TB, it looks good!
It may seem surprising but I've never really looked at Thunderbird before now. It seems perfect. I have already setup my two Gmail addresses, now just need to figure out how to setup the other ones. I wonder if MySpace will be a problem. This is great. Thanks!

5. Don't know about Myspace
as I don't use it, but may be worth checking if there is a T'bird plugin available. (There's a bloody plugin for just about every other thing......:) )

6. Actually, these addons are become a bit of a hassle
I've just spent the past half hour trying to connect to either my work OWA or my old MSN account using Thunderbird addons. I've got a strange trait of avoiding learning the parameters of 3rd party software, although I program quite a bit, actually every day. It's just that when I write software I try to make it easy for the user... so when I see other software making it hard I just retreat to the big behemoth corporations unfortunately who tend to make it easy.

Sorry it's just frustrating. It was easy getting Gmail setup but I can't figure out how to get the other accounts setup. Thanks for your help. I may come back to this later.
