1. It sounds to me like a network speed issue
you might want to check out speedtest.net.

Are you wired or wireless? If wired do you go directly to the modem or do you have a router?

4. I rec checking
the speed test. If you have the latest AVG you might consider disabling link scanner. (It eats band width for no particularly useful reason,IMO.)

3. Is this happening with Firefox...?
I get the same thing happening when I have too many tabs open (and I mean like 35-50). If I shut it down and start again from scratch (only one tab), it works fine. Or, I can just load that link up in MSIE.

BTW, this is with Firefox 2. I haven't tried it with FF3 yet.

10. didn't see this before when I asked above.
this sounds like an isp problem. They won't take speed tests as credible because it could be a problerm in between them and you.

I recommend going to a command prompt, and then using tracert.

ie
tracert www.yahoo.com
tracert www.youtube.com
tracert www.cnn.com
tracert www.galacticexpress.com

etc.

check to see if you see any common slow hops and call them armed with that information. I suspect a noisy line, or terribly pegged router between you and the rest of the world.

13. i reloaded the video driver.. loading at 180 now, i did an automatic check in Device manager. it sai...
it was up to date. had to reload it for another reason a couple weeks ago. i always liked Nvidia, this is the first ATI Radeon i have ever had. if crossfire contenues to improve and the price of this unit goes down, i will get another. wont need to upgrade from there. if i can keep the driver in it
