Do I need a new wireless router?
In the last couple of days, I've been losing my internet connection frequently and have had really bad response time. I've had to reset both the modem and router before I could get back online.

At first I thought it was my modem, but when I bypassed the wireless router and connected my computer directly from the modem the problem seems to disappear. I've never had problems with the router before. Anything I should try before I rip my hair out and buy a new router?

2. When I was having problems I was told to upgrade firmware
Try that. It seemed to work for me, but then I went for the gold and tried to "hack" my router, and ended up bricking it, so I bought a new one.

What you are describing was happening to me. My kids were complaining about no connections, slow or whatever. I was notcing the same thing. I was resetting my router several times a da.

Firmware Upgrade

This is what I tried and went too far!

Hacking your router
