so is there a simple way to capture a jpeg from video
i'm trying to capture stills (jpg, prefereably) from a video. i've got adobe CS3 available to me for this project but can't figure out how to do it.

anyone know how to do this? i'm not committed to using a method from the adobe suite, i'm happy to do it the quickest and easiest way.

TIA!

1. With a video player ...

Both Mplayer and Media Player Classic have screen cap functions.

Others have them too, but these are the ones I have used for this purpose.

You can do it with Windows Media Player too, but I found the method too clunky and so never committed it to memory ... something about unchecking a certain option, during a full screen-cap, then editing the screen cap.

2. thank you for the suggestion
as you can imagine, there is a simple way to do it using premiere pro - it's just a matter of figuring it out. export frame, d'uh.

i actually only stumbled upon the solution when i was in the process of completing an infinitely more difficult task.

p.s. the windows media player methods as described in numerous online sources don't work either, anyway.

thanks again!

3. Glad you figured it out ...

I was having trouble imagining your software not having some method available for such a simple thing, but since I don't use it I had no idea what it might be. It's always named something different in different packages it seems.

I remember using WMP to do this once, but that was several versions ago, and it was annoying back then. They probably just made it more annoying.
