where you spend the day at a school following another student around.

We are looking at different high schools for him. It's kind of nerve-wracking as a parent (searching for the best public or private high school that would suit him), but at the same time, I realize that a lot of this is up to him, not to me, but still worry about whether he will measure up, fit in, etc.

 It's like having a part time job fielding all the visits, applications, placement testing, financial aid, etc. It's worse than when I applied to college!

2. we did that last year. back and forth. back and forth, lol.
we were pleased (son especially) with the choice. this is the first year any of the kids have gone to a school in their district. before it was private or we were guests in out of district public.

this is a huge school. it is very diverse. that was the deciding factor. the other school not nearly the diversity.

he makes sure to stay in AP courses. otherwise, i would be looking elsewhere.

but the huge thing that helped son

he started cross country adn practice started about a month before school started. that got him really comfortable with the school, reducing fear factor. he made some friends and recognized the other kids of all grades.

and the cross country team did will, was a winner team, so was proud.

it worked for us

i know what you are experiencing. enjoy, lol...

:hi:

3. thanks sea!
glad he is happy with his choice. I wish we had a few more choices, but I think he will do well no matter where he goes.
