My holiday baking thread in the lounge sunk like a stone
I guess everyone's at work - I have Fridays off, so I am baking a bunch of breads for party and teachers at my son's school.

1. We can't bring homebaked thing to school
I just send personal notes of thanks. I DO have dough rising for rolls - they'll go straight to the freezer. I have three "do's" starting Christmas Eve so am trying to do stuff in advance. The garage is about to be adopted (with cooler) as the alternate freezer. It wouldn't be so bad in the actual freezer except I have a big roast in there and the other stuff. Normally we have to keep frozen jugs of water in there to fill it up.

The white rolls I made today are the KingArthurFlour ones with potato flakes and powdered milk. I've never made them before, wish me luck!

6. I'd be afraid to put food in my garage - it's a converted barn of sorts and
too many birds and squirrels like to hang out in there when it's cold...

Our school is very small and no one seems to have major food allergies that I cam tell.

7. Hey tigereye! I'm on a baking spree!
Last night I made the most wonderful little ginger tea cakes. They turned out beautifully. The recipe should be on the Rachael Ray website.

Tonight I am making M&M's cookies for my niece and nephew who will be visiting over the holidays. I actually picked out the red and green M&M's so the cookies would be "holiday correct". My husband says I am out of my mind.

Tomorrow I'm thinking about making cranberry pistachio biscotti. This one will be a first. Wish me luck!

What are you baking?
