Recommendations for food dehydrator?
Just need a small one. Recommendations?

Also have seen some of you talking about your plastic sealer appliances. Is there a best brand for those?

TIA!

:hi:

3. The Cadillac of dehydrators
Excalibur. I lovelovelove mine. Unlike all the others, it is built to last (i.e. the racks don't melt and it has an actual warranty). Has a fan, a thermostat that allows you to dry at a low enough temp to preserve enzymes and wind up with live food instead of cooked, and if you spring for the top end, also a timer so it shuts itself off.

I know people who've had theirs for two decades of heavy use, so you have to figure longevity into the initial cost. You can also use it for way more than just dehydrating, including yogurt, proofing bread dough, and sprouting.
