Any good recipes for sour cherry pie?
I was at a farm stand today and I couldn't resist the local cute little cherries.

Thanks!

1. you have pie cherries?
yummmmmmm. I haven't seen any yet. It's a very brief and elusive crop.

3. any standard recipe for sour cherry pie will work
If you google "fresh cherry pie recipe" you will get a lot of good hits. Be sure the recipe is for sour cherries and not sweet cherries.

Or if you have a standard cookbook, a recipe will be in it.

Pie cherries deteriorate quickly, so I wouldn't delay too long.

5. Whatever recipie you use - make sure you put in a little extra tapioca

corn starch, or flour to thicken the filling...

the sour cherries are REAL juicy...

in fact, there's a good recipe on the back of the tapioca box that I use for all sorts of fruit pies - and they ALWAYS turn out GREAT!

Never use anything else...
