Geeze, I did it again. How many of you have overcooked part
or all of your dinner because you were so intent on checking up on things here on DU.

I think I better not sit here any time after 4PM from now on. When the dishes are done, I can come back and check. This site moves so fast, I miss lots of good info.

Off to resurrect what is left of tonights fiasco.

1. I was making a juice reduction for salad dressing a week or so ago
I KILLED it.
Had to soak the pot two days to get it clean. I can totally relate. :)

Hope dinner is ok!

2. C&B is addictive, isn't it?
It just about saved my sanity after the 2004 election.

3. Haven't done that, but I was on the phone the other day
and forgot that I was making mac & cheese for my son.

Totally burned it. Couldn't smell it because I had the stovetop fan on.

I didn't care about the mac & cheese, but I trashed my nice little Le Creuset pot. That pissed me off. :grrr:

7. Totally beyond redemption?
I would imagine there would be some way to keep it. I've found anything soaked long enough is cleanable. But that must be really bad if you feel it's bad enough to toss the pot.

10. Trashedy trashedy trashed.
I debated taking a picture of it before I threw it out.

It was beyond redemption. At least more than I wanted to deal with.

Requisat In Pace, little Creuset.

4. Not since I got a push button microwave
with a timer feature.

It's not just the computer. I also got lost in fibre from time to time and didn't come up for air until the smoke alarm went off.

5. I've learned.........
And it's not just being here that gets me distracted. Hell, I get distracted standing in the middle of the room in the dark.

That's why, if I'm doing anything in the kitchen, whether it's something on the stove, in the oven, in the microwave, or ingredients waiting to be put together, I carry one of these with me:

6. Yup, I did. Two weeks ago I burned a pot of water while
reading DU. I put on a pot of water to cook rice, and the water boiled away and then some. But that burnt on face of Jesus was worth it. I actually Bon-Ami'd it away instead of trying to sell it on e-Bay.
