... she knew her better from the classic film forum. Neither of us had any idea whatever that she was so ill.

6. She had posted nice supportive things on my behalf in the cancer forum

I didn't realize she was that advanced.

I don't really know what to say.

Do we know where/when the services are? I'd like to send something.

15. This saddens me so very much.
Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 11:17 PM by hippywife
We talked both here and in PM's. She has been very much on my mind and I was just getting ready to check on her. What a wonderful lady. And everyone is right about her being upbeat and positive the whole time. She never, ever let on if she was feeling poorly.

This is a terrible day. I just sat down to check in because since I've been home I've been cooking for the family of a very dear friend and coworker who also passed away yesterday. Yesterday, two of the very dearest people left their suffering behind and many of us with wonderful memories and the inspiration to live life to the fullest no matter what.

Thanx for bringing this to our attention, Stinky. I might never have seen it otherwise.

19. Mortality slaps you in the face at times like this.
We take for granted the relationships we develop in everyday life. Whether in person or on places like DU.

Au revoir, dear Longhorn, au revoir.

22. I thought she was getting better.
She was one of those pleasant DU fixtures. Nice, funny, always a kind or upbeat word for everyone. Somehow I knew all about her cooking, her dogs, her struggles with exercise and weight. Tears sprang into my eyes when I read she had passed. It was such a surprise.
