Nepalese food

Check this out:

http://cafemomonh.com/index.html

This place is only 20 minutes from here; it's a tiny little hole in the wall place just like you'd find in Nepal (I was in the Himalayas 20 years ago). It really is a very striking and different cuisine - similar to Indian (Nepal sits on top of India, and is also influenced by China), but not really either. Closer to Indian cuisine than chinese, but look through the menu. The classes are new - I think I'll be signing up for some.

1. We're lucky in Madison to have had a family of Nepalese restauranteurs move here years ago
They started with Himalchuli, which is a tiny hole in the wall place much as the one you describe. Now, their sons have grown up and started a few restaurants of their own, each blending Himalayan food with Indian and Malaysian cuisines to various degrees.

Personally, I've made lamb momos with roti bread a few times, but usually stay with Indian food when I'm in a Himalayan mood.

:hi:
