I have a good friend who is a purse freak, so for her birthday I made her a purse cake. Her initials are KP. Here it is:

3. Thanks, had a lot of fun doing it..
It is the first time I had made the gum paste flowers and they were really easy. The cake is good ol' Sara Lee pound cake with canned creamcheese icing under the fondant.

9. It only took 3 hours ( and I wasn't working on the entire time)
Like I said, Sara Lee made the pound cake (3 family size, with the top cut off two of them), frosted it with canned cream chese icing and stuck 3 bamboo skewers cut to length through the cake to stablize it. Rolled and cut fondant to fit. The blue piping and handle are also fondant and the "stitching" was done with a zig-zag butter curler that was in the gadget drawer. The Skull and crossbones "snap" was a cheap ring I found at Hobby Lobby (it is just pushed into the cake).
