Here is what we picnicked on for New Years Eve
Hubby and I always have smorgasbord on the floor for New Year's Eve.

So, after a fun day shopping at Whole Food Market (long trip to get to one), here is what we had:

Marinated mussels and baby octopus
Mushroom lasagna
Crab stuffed shrimp
Corn & cilantro fritters
Maryland Crab soup (yum yum)
Brie, gorgonzola, jarlsberg and a couple of goof Italian cheeses
Some great flatbread
Marinated artichokes
A fresh baguette for scooping anything (all the marinating juices . . . yum)
Pears
Dates
eel Sushi
Chantarelle mushrooms (3 of them) done quickly in butter and lemon
Roast fingerling potatoes
Cold sesame noodles
crab claws

cheesecake with raspberry coulis
Dark columbian chocolate with raspberry framboise
fresh raspberries

I have expandable waist sweatpants on now...my hubby is snoring on the couch...the cheese and pears are still out, and I do not think I have any room for the prosecco.

Help! I will need either a two wheeler or a transporter to get to the bed tonight. We do this to ourselves EVERY year!

9. It really was not as much as you think....
4 shrimp, 2 fritters...you know, enough to have a taste of everything, one chunk of lasagna.

I have to say I myself was sound asleep before 10:00

Today, I am slow.

I will say I had great fun at Whole Foods...where else can you go and find a zillion other foodies who are mostly Dems? The amount of Kerry/Edwards stickers alone in the parking lot brought a smile to me right away. I have to say the attitudes in stores like this are COMPLETELY different from lets say, shopping at Kroger. And it was packed when I was there. Everyone talking to strangers like they knew them, everyone helpful, smiles and sincere apologies when you got bumped into...the staff seemed happy and very helpful too...like they really liked their jobs.

:)

5. Wow sounds yummy!
And I thought we had a lot of food. We usually grab several pre-made appetizers from Costco and graze all night. Our list included asparagus and shrimp bruschetta, chicken teriyaki sticks, mini quiches, chips and chipotle/lime dip, and various mexican appetizers with guacamole and mango salsa.

10. Glad to see you are aware H2S!
Loved the Vicoden stories from earlier this week provided by your soulmate.

Remember any of it?

Happy New Year to everyone! We are alive this morning, and only suffering slightly from the VERY rich picnic from last night. And the great thing is, we have some leftover for today. There goes the pork roast I was going to make. Too full still to even THINK about that.
