Wooo-Hoooooo!
I know it's sort of not pc-correct to talk about politics here but I've been so cheered by all the Bush admin's bad news this week that I've been celebrating with some Chicken Alfredo Florentine... mmm-mmm-mmmmmm...

And tonight, in honor of Russ Feingold's magnificent success in the Senate today, I'm having pots de creme au chocolate and some WONDERFUL AJ's coffee...

Just celebrating for a day, after 5 solid years of daily bad news, today is cause for celebration, don't you think????

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

1. Yanno, I'll join you in breaking the 'no politics' rule, too ....
No matter where any of us are on the spectrum, today was a good day for any sentient being on the left side of the dial .... and for all of humanity, for that matter!

3. And to think, the rest of DU settles for popcorn.
Think we could get Skinner to approve a smilie for Chicken Alfredo Florentine?

4. Indeed,
but I must confess that the awful death of John Spencer has me thrown. I'm surprised at how saddened I am.

I knew so many guys like him - driven, hard-drinking, chain-smoking Irish charmers who cleaned up their acts, started to live life in a whole different and joyous way, and then were smacked, all around his age (58) with their first, and last, heart attacks.

That, however, doesn't keep me from feeling the first signs of optimisim in a long, long time.

Watch the Abramoff thing, though. I predict that will make us all even happier.

In the meantime, I celebrate this morning's warm buttered toast..........

7. Naw,
Tony Soprano will make sure Abramoff's kids disappear before that happens.....

Remember John Spencer as Tommy, the alcoholic lawyer on "L.A. Law"? That was a fabulous role. I think he was even better there than he was on "West Wing". He had a gift for playing broken, redeemed men.

What a mug he had. What an absolutely beautiful being to behold.

And, a good Democratic contributor and supporter, too.

I sense something from Fitzgerald in the not-too-distant-future.

You know, I've always had this thing for Irish guys. Hence, Old Yeller ...........
