Been using OmniWeb since it went free. My observations
It's fast, and doesn't seem to bog down like Safari does on rare occasions. It's only crashed a few times. One problem is video content on CNN. Sometimes it doesn't work, but that's no big thing.

I like the way the tabs work. They are in a pull out drawer on the side. You can either have them as icons or text.

Downloading videos from youtube is easier on Safari, but that's no big thing.

So far I can recommend OmniWeb. Will I make it my default? Not sure, but it has become my favorite. I've only touched the surface of features. This browser has been around since the days of NeXt.

1. I am using it as my default and I like it.
I particularly like the pull out tabs, as I can quickly see if a page that auto-refreshes has changed.

I do not like the search the page feature - clumsy and has to be reopened every time I need it. I prefer the firefox function.

I have run into a few sites I can not access because OMNI is not supported, but that doesn't happen very often.

Overall, satisfied.

2. It's a good solid Mac only browser.

3. This may sound silly .... but does it allow you to change the color of visited links?
So far, the only browser I know that allows that is Firefox.

4. The visited links turn purple. That's all you get.

Complete Defaults List
The table listed here is a complete list of the settings you can edit using site-wide defaults files (Defaults.plist) or the defaults command-line utility, and their original values. The comments in the green sections describe the setting that's above. Color settings are expressed as a string containing three decimal numbers between 0 and 1 separated by spaces; these are Red, Green and Blue values. ("0 0 0" is black, "1 1 1" is white, "0.5 0.5 1.0" is a lavender-blue color, et cetera.) "Boolean" settings, or true/false switch values, are expressed as 1 or YES for true, and 0 or NO for false ...
http://www.omnigroup.com/documentation/OmniWeb/DefaultsList-5.0.html

The above page indicates OHCachedLinkColor Corresponds to "visited link color" and controls the color property of visited links in the default style sheet; the default value is listed as 0.172 0.5 0.445

Preferences also allow you to set a custom style sheet

Try typing omniweb:/Help/advanced/index.html as the address in the browser for additional info

Preferences>Appearance>
for "page colors" select "custom"
a drop down box appears
double-click on "visited link color" &c&c
