Screen calibration on iMacs...
Now another selling point to the 24" iMac is the glass used to cover the LCD screen. It's easy to damage LCD panels; the larger the panel the easier... the glass was a darn good thing to do if you ask me...

Has anybody tried to calibrate using ColorVision Spyder II and gotten less than effective results because the sensor is a few millimeters away from the screen and ambient light might distort the sensor readings? (I haven't tried yet...)

In which case, do you prefer to manually calibrate?

1. I don't have a glass shield on mine (3 years old)
The spyder II works just fine on my screen, and the glass should not refract so much light to distort a calibration.

You, however are not supposed to have any ambient light on when you calibrate in the first place.:spank::;)
