got the kiddo a refurb macbook
older model than mine. 1,1 mine is 2,1
wanted to get her a mac so that we could share photoshop, etc, especially since she is a student and we can get the student discounts. DH wants to add some ram. but i think that she will be happy with it, and it will do what she needs to do for the time being. she has been drooling on mine since i got it. (she is 15) at least if there is something that she feels she really needs the juice for, she can use mine, and things can go back and forth.
it is a pc world here in the pinko household. it will be a bonding experience.

1. Spring for the extra ram - you'll be happy you did.
And RAM is cheap these days.

2. You might want to get more ram
Here is a link where you can get the best prices.

Once you have more than 2 G ram, get your kid the Guitar Hero Aerosmith and she will be as hooked as I am with it.
