What are your favorite animal rights advocacy groups?
PETA is great but there are definitely a lot of other groups that are kicking ass out there.

My wife and I have 'adopted' animals at Farm Sanctuary\

Being Zonies, we belong to the Animal Defense League of Arizona.

What are some groups you like?

1. Friends of Animals
They are a true animal rights organization (although PeTA had quite an influence on me).

2. Couple of mine
Farm Sanctuary, of course, as mentioned in the orig. post.

Also, Sea Shepherd, sort of like Greenpeace on speed:

SHAC, for changing the way activists get action:
www.shacamerica.net

Best Friends, leading the No More Homeless Pets movement (this is who my org aspires to be)

PETA has done so much, they're kind of a given with me. I'm a big fan of In Defense of Animals, too.

8. Excellent.
I only said that as "fair warning" as some folks (me not included) don't like HSUS.

6. Primate Freedom Project

I love any group that is dedicated to freedom for animals.

Some of my favorites are Primate Freedom Project, SHAC, Sea Shepard, Farm Sanctuary, In Defense of Animals and Compassion Over Killing.

I love PeTA2 for the work they do with kids!

11. I accidentally stumbled onto the anti-Peta talking points
on the internet while looking for info on an acquaitance of mine online. I was pretty surprised to realize that normally politically astute people here were repeating by rote the talking points put out by the Furriers assoc. of America, etc. I was like "wow" would some of these long-time D.U.ers ever be embarassed to realize they've been programmed by corporate America.

I'm gonna admit, I admire the aminal bileration rontf. I've read some of their actions online, actually their is a link which I don't have, but hey, they let the animals go, which is the point. I always feel very happy for the animals they set free.

12. Hi theoceansnverves..
I like PETA'S "moxie" - like the Animal Liberation Front...it takes guts to do that kind of work...(of which I have none, BTW!) :hi:

15. Most of my contributions go to PETA and Farm Sanctuary.
I feel like I have to focus my money on just a couple of good causes. A bottomless pit I ain't.
