So I'm giving my third (!) classroom presentation on veganism next week.
This one will be pretty short, and will focus more on veganism as a subculture, what veganism is and how it differs from vegetarianism (the instructor asked me to cover that because she's not totally clear on it- she's given up dairy for lent so I think that's pretty awesome,) why somebody might choose to be vegan, resources for vegans (cookbooks, websites, etc,) etc. Oh, and I'm bringing food.

Anything I'm missing that should definitely be covered in a short (<10 min) presentation?

1. Sounds like a good one and that you will cover the 10 min.
Maybe you can bring some pictures of famous people who are vegans along and give a few website links for further research :-).

Have fun!

2. You're going to have a tough time keeping that short.
Reasons to be vegan could take a couple hours alone.

I'd focus on the core difference between vegetarianism and veganism, but without making it seem like vegetarianism "isn't good enough" which we know isn't true. I've always liked the "it's the next logical step". You can really hit a LOT of good points. Eggs/battery hens and dead male chicks (everybody LOVES baby chicks), milk/veal calves, rape racks and the recent Hallmark/downer cow cruelty and meat recall (SO easy to work that one in), fur, etc.

Veganism is the new vegetarianism. Get it? Like "40 is the new 30"? I dunno, it's early.

3. You have more than enough to cover 10 minutes....
...it will probably go longer, given that you'll probably be get some questions from other students.

Good luck! Sounds like you're ready...
