An Alabama high school basketball coach who won a Supreme Court ruling strengthening protections against gender bias plans to testify before Congress on President Bush's nomination of John Roberts as Supreme Court chief justice.

Roderick Jackson, girls basketball coach at Ensley High School, said he is worried that Roberts' views are "locked in cement." <snip>

I am a wrestling coach and title 9 is killing our sport. I have daughters and agree that they should be able to participate in sports, however you are fooling yourself by cutting mens sports.

Please forgive my lack of acuity, but I must ask: how does this show that I am fooling myself?

I should also like to understand your view in cases where essentially all current resources are directed to men's sports, despite interest from women athletes: must any significant participation of women in sports await the development of future revenue streams?

Because Title 9 in and of itself is sexist in it's form. While I agree that women need the same amount of funding, et cetera, to have it kill off other sports because it's a law is unnecessary. Too many times have I seen or heard about sports going out of existance because of Title 9; sometimes, budgets can't afford to split the costs.
