Today's Endeavour launch was beautiful


Jesus Diaz —A Beautiful View of Endeavour Breaking the SkyThere's never enough photos of shuttle launches or yummy astronaut breakfasts. But Trey Ratcliff's shot of the shuttle thundering through Florida's steel clouds is, by far, my favorite for today's lift-off.

It's amazingly beautiful and strange. It almost looks like the smoke is coming from above. Or like a weird nuclear mushroom.

2. I know that picture is real but
it looks like its from a TV show or something. I didn't get to watch this launch because I was taking a final at the time.
