1. It's 8:45 and I'm still at work.
I would love to go home and take a hot shower, but I'm not getting out of here for another hour, and then I have a 2 hour commute to get home.

3. a TWO HOUR COMMUTE...?
One way? That's insane. Is your job worth that? I mean, I'd have to REALLY like my job and be incredibly well compensated to do that! I just got home from a 40 minute commute BY BICYCLE-- it takes 10 minutes in the car. I'd sooner gnaw my leg off than work more than 20 or so minutes away from home unless they're bicycle minutes-- then the more the better!

6. I'm in NYC. 2 hours isn't unusual.
I think the average is over an hour.

I like my job, except for the commute. I'd like it even better if they gave me a big raise and some more vacation days.

8. eh, rookie
it's 10:45 and I'm STILL at work, almost time to go home (and yes, I got here at 7, but I have to take the morning off to go contest a littering citation) so it'll only be about 60 hours this week. billable hours, you know. and yes, I get overtime.
