2. this is the second time this pic has been on DU, BUT...

Something is majorly wrong with one of the postings. The first time this image was posted, those two huge pillars were NOT in the image. So either they have been added in and this image is fake, or they were taken out and the previous image was fake. The previous post became quite a scrap when someone suggested this was not a wall of water, but those pillars not being there made it hard to tell.

So, one of these two versions of this image is fake, and I have to say I think it is this one, although I still believe it is not a wall of water but is rather water spilling OVER a wall of some kind.

On edit: after reading that web page I now know this one is NOT the fake - which makes the argument on the other thread all the funnier especially seeing as how heated it got and the reference to a nun who supposedly took it.

4. snopes considers the picture being true
and you are right, it's the water pouring over the levee.

5. Yeah thats what I read and the other page posted here proves it
What the big deal was, on the other thread the picture was described as being taken from a church by a nun, and was supposedly taken well away from where this bridge is. By cropping the picture, if that is what was done (and Im not sure of that), they removed the bridge structure which would NOT have matched the story being circulated with that version of the image.

Like I said it is no big deal, but the original thread degenerated into a fight, with the OP author getting quite angry that anyone would dare question the "nun" who took it or suggest it had been faked or did not show a huge wall of water as opposed to water spilling over a wall or levy.

It just struck me as funny how angry that person got, to now be totally and without doubt proven wrong in every respect - where it was taken, who took it, and what it showed.

6. That was one of the most bizarre threads I've ever seen on DU
It's good to see that this is getting cleared up, though I doubt the truth will ever be accepted by the poster of that other thread.
