Men's socks with clocks
Anybody else remember these?

When I was a young man, men's socks with 'clocks' were the fashion for business and even formal dress.
The 'clock' was a thin design down both sides, from the ankle to the top.

I have no idea why the design was called 'clocks'.
Traditionalists wore them with garters.

I confess to owning and using a pair of them back in the day.
It was incredibly 'cool' back then.
;-)

1. My father wore traditional clothing but I don't remember this.
Was this an Ivy League thing?

2. They were a cousin of the argyle sock.
Those are coming back into favor, I think.
