Go to church. Receive insurance discount.
I posted this over in the Iowa forum, but was thinking it might also be of interest to the discussions here.

Churchgoers and religious volunteers will receive special discounts on their home and car insurance under a new product line launched by GuideOne Insurance.

The West Des Moines-based company, which specializes in insuring churches and private schools, said its new "FaithGuard" product line is a natural extension of its coverage of 45,000 churches nationwide.

The Iowa Civil Liberties Union on Thursday criticized the line, saying it appears to violate laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of religious views. The group predicted a nonreligious customer would challenge the policies in court.

...

Under the policies, the faithful would not have to pay a deductible if they are in a car accident on the way to church activities, and they would receive double medical coverage in such accidents. Churchgoers would not have to pay a deductible if they lose personal property while at church.

3. "What churches will qualify?"
"Amen!" said Patsified, ironically. And hey, I consider the entire outdoors my place of spiritual inspiration, my "church." So I'll get that extra insurance coverage 24/7, right?

I would love to see what happens when a Satanist is told he/she will not receive special coverage on the way to their religious services. You just know that anyone who practices anything other than Judeo-Christianity will be denied coverage.

And shouldn't people receive extra coverage when driving to/from volunteer activities that actually serve the community? What about driving my child to/from school -- I'm preparing the future, you know. Being a responsible parent 'n all. Also, those who drive to/from work need extra coverage, because their jobs help contribute to the tax base and support the community.

Slippery, slippery, slippery slope.

7. I believe this violates the Civil Rights act...
Discrimination against those who belong to religions without churches, or lack a requirment for permanent buildings.
