Homeopathic relief from "Cedar Fever" - tea with juniper berries
A friend who suffers from cedar fever sent this to me and swears by it.
I'm not an allergy sufferer so can't comment with any authority. Perhaps someone here has tried this?

Anyway, I think this is from her local paper:

Cedar Fever Recipe

If your doctor says it is all right for you to apply homeopathic solutions to relief from Cedar Fever, gather the berries from the female tree. You can collect and clean the berries. As the homeopathic relief calls for one half a cup of berries that will last one person approximately two weeks of relief, I am going to gather about two cups of berries. Warning: This may not be for everyone so consult with your doctor first. For those of us that it works for, we can hardly wait to gather the berries and let the relief begin.

Thanks to fellow former Cedar Fever sufferer B. Branch we can enjoy the same relief. Now here is the recipe:

Place one-half cup of berries in a saucepan with one and half cups of water. Bring ingredients to a boil then remove from the stove, cover and let cool. Transfer the tea and the berries into a jar and place in the refrigerator.

By the way if you do not have enough berries on your place they are available at local heath food stores or you stop and ask any rancher if they would mind if you harvested their berries. If you are new to Texas, we always ask permission first.

Each morning take one teaspoon of the tea. Presto, you will have no more allergies to Ashe Juniper for this season and after doing this annually at some time in the future you will eventually become immune. Warning: Please consult your physician before trying this homeopathic remedy, as some folks are highly allergic to Ashe Juniper.

1. It only works if you drink it while facing east.
And you have to be barefoot. That's important.

3. That's not homeopathic.
Please look up, read, and understand what the word means.

7. That is not a homeopathic remedy.
It's an herbal remedy. They are not the same thing.

9. Correcting misinformation is important. I don't care if you drink
juniper berry tea. I do care if you say it's homeopathic. It most certainly is not. Apparently, neither you nor the author of the article know what homeopathy is. You know, I'd be worried about taking advice from someone who doesn't even know that basic information. You might want to think about that.

Oh I do apologize and will sit in the corner and think about that long and hard....while sipping some juniper berry tea! I like to live dangerously.

11. No. What you posted was advice. It was medical advice by
someone who doesn't even know the difference between homeopathy and herbal medicine. That's pretty basic stuff, you know. As I said, I don't care if you take juniper berry tea. I do care if you're promulgating medical advice by uninformed people, which is what you just did in your OP.

12. I don't think anyone would mistake that OP for professional advice.
It's a folk remedy from a local non-professional source and entirely anecdotal. And as I stated in the OP, I'm no authority on it.

Wish there was a 'chill pill' or happy tea for people who take themselves and life much too seriously...

13. So it was just a joke?
Then why post it in the health forum?

14. I guess that would depend on how you feel about folk remedies and anecdotal
information. No need to respond. I think your position on that is quite clear.

15. You seem to want to have things both ways.
Do you want your post taken seriously, or do you consider it to be a joke?

16. What I want...
is to pin you down

and tickle you....

It's an ooooold folk remedy that cures most anything that ails you.

That is, of course, only my unprofessional advice based entirely on anecdotal experience.

I'm on my third glass of wine.

That's my favorite folk remedy.

Please do not post OP's asking, or giving medical advice. If you suffer any ailment, please consult your doctor.
