Kolesar's letter to Obama advocating single payer health coverage

I had been meaning to write for many a month, so here it goes. Gotta get this input to the decision makers.

Dear President Obama,

Various terms have been used to describe it like "public option" or "single payer" health care, but what I would like is an extension of the Medicare program as the method to make health care available to all Americans. Citizens and residents would pay premiums into the system, receive an ID card and receive services as necessary. I expect that premiums would be collected through existing revenue collection services. I also advocate mandatory coverage.

Employer-based health care has no future. The trend is that employers are dropping coverage or not funding it, leaving individuals and families with quite-high premiums to get health care from insurers and health care providers. Further, it is quite inefficient for a private or public employer to have to manage health care benefits. My company's senior management would surely rather have employees working on how to optimize processes or develop new markets, rather than having to delve through the minutia of coverage options.
