I was watching the repeat of "The Daily Show" with Mike Huckabee as a guest.
And Huckabee and Jon Stewart were talking about same-sex marriage. And Huckabee said at one point (I'm paraphrasing), "I don't want people to think that opponents of same-sex marriage are all homophobes or haters".

I had to laugh. I mean, please. When, for instance, the highest court in a state (California, Massachusetts, Connecticut) says, without ambiguity, that gay and lesbians have the right to legally recognized marriage, that should be it. Period. The end.

But the Huckabees of this country have to overrule the rulings of people who are doing their jobs. Because of "preserving the sanctity of marriage". Let's face it...what else can that be except an essential hatred of a group of people.

It's something to watch homophobes trying to deny their hatred of gay and lesbian people.

5. No, because that abridges THEIR rights.
They only want to abridge OTHER people's rights.

3. I watched that and came away with a different take on it.
You could see Huck getting madder and madder, the more he was confronted with the logic (or illogic) of his arguments. He, in the end, was PISSED and essentially said he didn't want to talk about it anymore.

4. I think Huckster was sweating bullets at the end
he saw his book sales plummet, the word "boycott" appeared in each eye ball and then he backtracked to the old marriage is for reproduction argument and Stewart nailed him with all of the instances why that wasn't true.

8. Yep - watching that last night as well, and JS made the point
to say to Huckabee, "I'm not calling you a homophobe", and I was thinking, FUCK THAT - I'm more than happy to call him a homophobe for trying to push that garbage onto the American people!
