Prince comes out against LGBT equality.
Slash from Guns and Roses comes out for LGBT equality. He and his wife even make a video in support of the No on 8 aftermath movement.

1. I never knew prince was such a bigoted idiot.
He thinks god came here and told people to stop sticking wherever? yikes.

4. He's also HYPER-protective of his music.
Someone uploaded a YouTube video of their 4-year-old dancing around with his music playing in the background. His lawyers had it removed.

32. I Don't Believe He Used to Be
He became a Jehovah's Witness not all that long ago. Funny how it doesn't stop him from playing his overtly sexual hits. He's yet to release a christian album, as far as I know.

2. Oh, irony.
Listen, I'm not doing the "everyone we hate is gay" thing, but...

Is it just me, or is Prince one of the queerest straight musicians out there? I mean, the high heels and everything.

Way to alienate your fanbase, dude.

7. Prince the pervert? Ae you kidding me?
Edited on Sat Nov-22-08 03:58 PM by Ecumenist
When he first started hitting it real big in the late 70's early 80's, he actually sang about incestuous relationships with his sister, for crying out loud. He has a very debased catalogue of music and this idiot has the nerve to make this opinion? Oh my God, this is cheeky beyond belief..

11. "I knew a girl name Nikki, I guess you could say she was a sex fiend"
Then God came down and smite her for 'sticking it in wherever' with a magazine.

That's how that went right?

23. He does not - I saw him about 10 years ago when he became a Jehovah's Witness
and he did not play any songs that had any raunchiness to them - he preached about getting ready for the end of the world however. One of the worst concerts ever, if it had not been for the very straight man behind me that kept buying me beer I would have left! LOL:) To whomever that man is - thank you!

12. It's interesting. Rock guys for gay rights is something we wouldn't've seen 20 years ago.
It wouldn't've been as acceptible. But folks realizing that...uh.... Queen (huh-LLO!) and Rob Halford of Judas Priest and other Juke Box heroes were gay. Not to mention Iggy Pop and Bowie's whole fling. Homophobia in the rock word seems like a weird masculinist hysteria from planet 1980s now. I think that's a good thing.

Soup With Prince
by Claire Hoffman
November 24, 2008
>>Recently, Prince hosted an executive who works for Philip Anschutz, the Christian businessman whose company owns the Staples Center. “We started talking red and blue,” Prince said. “People with money—money like that—are not affected by the stock market, and they’re not freaking out over anything. They’re just watching. So here’s how it is: you’ve got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to this.” He pointed to a Bible. “But there’s the problem of interpretation, and you’ve got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn’t. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you’ve got blue, you’ve got the Democrats, and they’re, like, ‘You can do whatever you want.’ Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right.”

When asked about his perspective on social issues—gay marriage, abortion—Prince tapped his Bible and said, “God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, ‘Enough.’ ” <<

22. He's not a gay male...
but he may be transgendered and non-self accepting. He could be a femme lesbian who prefers other femmes yet enjoys the social power that comes with being male. That's always been my take on him anyway. Not all homophobes are straight tho, right? One thing is for sure. He ain't the brightest bulb on the Christmas Cross.

He is straight as can be - he is also, or was back then anyway, a very sexist abusive person. He treated my partners collage roommate like she was a disposable vagina.

"...spread some fucking disease." Slash gets kudos, but I'd like to hear if Axel has had a change of heart.

And Prince? He was a Jehovah's Witness for a while. He's also a dick! Good musician, but a dick, none the less.
