Georgia Voids Parts Of Local Gay Rights Ordinances
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/03/031705georgia.htm

Legislation to strike out portions of local gay rights ordinances is on its way to Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue to be signed into law.

The bill would allow private clubs to bar gays from membership, nullify those sections of ordinances that mandate same-sex couples must be treated equally with married couples and prevent municipalities from enacting laws requiring organizations to extend domestic benefits to gay couples.

Although the legislation does not specifically name the city of Atlanta, the bill was pushed through the legislature after two club members sued Druid Hills Golf Club when it refused to give their partners family memberships.

1. They just never give up, do they?
They pound away at human rights.

They pound away at reproductive rights (maybe I'm getting redundant here).

They pound away in their efforts to put their religious symbols up (and I don't believe that they wish for my progressive Christian friends to be in the Club). I think they just want a constant reminder about who they think is in power to be there (and I'm not talking about Jesus or God).

I have to wonder what it feels like to carry that kind of bullying nature and hostility around with you all day (if you are a pro-Bushie and member of the radical religious right).

Sad.

sooner or later, it will come back to bite them. Maybe it will take awhile, but it will eventually eat them up.
