Do people like MIZZ... come in and mess with you guys? I would think that on a site like this one that stuff like that would be very minimal. I mean, this is Democratic Underground and all...

I would think that kind of stuff would be ended really quickly, although that poster sure was allowed to fire off enough rounds. I am sorry though, that it turned out like that.

But thanks again for all of your wonderful comments. Next time I have a question I'll try to word it a little better, but hopefully next time you will feel more comfortable with me asking. It must be very difficult to take someone seriously when you deal with bullshit like that.

hit alert and the mods take care of it immediately. Some nights they are quick with the pizza, others they have to be alerted because we could be hit hard by a bunch of them at once. Just hit alert....

4. Not usually. But last week there were a lot of hateful threads posted that put many of us...

in a defensive mode. A poster who called us "Stupid Queers" in the thread title was allowed to continue posting and not tombstoned for several days. So, in answer to your question, yeah, we have to put up with a lot of bullshit around here sometimes.

The thread you were posting in earlier in GDP was similar to many of those threads, with someone insinuating that any of us would not support our candidate because we were disappointed in what Biden said. And that we should be happy that at least our party doesn't want to exterminate us, as if that should be comfort enough for us to stop requesting equal rights.

Since you were posting in that thread in GDP, in a way that seemed to be commiserating with the OP, and then within an hour was in here to post a thread that was titled, "Gulp. Can I ask a question?" as if you were afraid to be attacked if you asked the question... that combination made me assume that your question wasn't really intended as innocently as you seem to be saying you meant it now and in subsequent posts in that thread.

You claim that you are asking innocent questions, but when someone is (understandably) doubtful as to your intentions you immediately dismiss them. Here, in the the GLBT forum. I have tried to explain everything you have asked of me today. And nothing I say makes a bit of difference.

As I said before, it has nothing to do with your sexuality. It's about your personality. The simple fact is that I came here looking to understand something, but rather than assist me with that you chose to attack me.

Damn right, when you do that I am going to get defensive. We are not going to agree on everything; regardless the issue. However, if you really want to know my feelings then I suggest you look at the MANY threads in which I have defended GLBT issues on here, not just take a couple where I disagree.

It is really easy to take a couple of comments and say, oh yeah, that's who that person is. It is much harder to look at everything. I'm not going to rehash the McClurkin thing. I know what I said, and I know whose side I was on; YOURS. Just because I didin't agree 100% with EVERYTHING you wanted me to doesn't mean him homophobic.

You ignore every other comment I make, about how horrible what happens to LGBT are, and how it's not a choice, and how you should have equal rights and instead latch on to one or two things I disagree with.

Well fine, be that way. I HAVE defended everything you accused me of, and tried to explain how I feel. But this just isn't enough for you.

You ask why I originally said "gulp" Well this is why. I KNEW this would happen. It always happens. Someone takes offense to what should be, and is inteded to be an innocent comment, and twists it around.

This is not a GLBT thing, it is this way for just about every issue on here, it just has been my opinion that some in here can be a bit more sensitive; and rightfully so. You have to deal with a lot of assholes. But when you assume the worst, you are going to get it. I came here with the best of intents today, and instead of getting that in return, I got attacked by you and several others.

I did try. It's just sad you can't see it.

Now, I wanted to do something nice for this forum, and I'm still going to do it. But after that, you can have it back, and I won't bother you in here any more. But it is sad, because I really just wanted to ask some questions and learn a little. You can't ask for acceptance (which you SHOULDN'T have to) and when somebody tries, you chase them away.

And so we're clear, I mean YOU chase them away, not the entire GLBT community in here; most of those who I spoke with today have been very friendly and polite and sincere; just as I expcected. It's sad that a few have to ruin the reputation of many.
