From a redneck backwater....

Judah Breland’s family portrait looks like any other 4-year-old’s might. The three stick figures, hastily sketched, have impossibly long legs and round heads.

There’s a large figure on the left, a slightly smaller one on the right and Judah, of course, is in the middle.

Maybe it’s just that the drawing is from Judah’s perspective, but it looks as if each parent has one of his hands and, together, they are swinging him through the air. With the broad grins on everyone’s faces, one could be forgiven for thinking that.

Your typical family… just like everybody else. Or are they?

2. This is an old person issue only... Young people don't care.

On Monday, I'll be 29.. I went to school with kids who had two moms and two dads and split parents and 1 mom and 1 dad and where grandparents or relatives were raising kids... I stayed overnight.. I played with the kids from (oh gasp whisper, whisper) different parents.. and guess what.. they are normal when it comes to raising kids..... so, really, its a old person's issue.. not a young person's issue.
