Maybe we don't talk about these people because their language is so dry and hidden, but they are far more dangerous than Phelps or even Dobson. To gay people (outside warzones and free-trade zones)--they may be even more dangerous than Bush or Cheney.
There is an organization called The Human Biodiversity Group (aka The Human Biodiversity Institute) that is not much more than a front for eugenics research. Oh, it's rhetoric is calm and collected. But that's how these people work. They are also "race scientists" as well. The HBG was so toxic that it has been virtually wiped off the internet. But one transwoman kept their dream live :) One of its members started a group called Vdare.com since, which openly named after the first English (white) child born in the US to give up a hint at the level of fucked-upped ness.
Basically, they're saying gay men are an infectious virus unto themselves. They litter their speeches with nods to "ethics" and reminders that "no one chooses to be gay." They seem to think that lesbians are not gay, but rather simply ugly women who don't have sex and commiserate with one another.
Some Quotes:
http://ai.eecs.umich.edu/people/conway/TS/BaileyAssociates/HumanBiodiversityGroup-II.html#anchor137469humanbiodiversity.org/
"The following facts about human male homosexuality have been well established. Male homosexuality is neither a recent nor a local (western) phenomenon... Gay men have a later birth order, due to an excess of older brothers...Some existing evolutionary hypotheses, such as kin selection and heterozygote advantage (and its more general formulation), are reviewed and rejected.
Two alternative hypotheses, maternal immune response and pathogens (as yet unidentified), are offered.http://www.hbes.com/HBES/abst99.htmGiven at Johns Hopkins:
"In contrast with difficulties of noninfectious explanations of homosexuality, the hypothesis of infectious causation does not incorporate critical
logical flaws or contradictions of fundamental biological principles.
Indeed, anecdotal reports indicate that changes in human sexual orientation
have occurred following changes in the limbic area due to trauma or
infection <131, 132>. One possible route would be sexual, whereby homosexual
behavior could facilitate spread because of the larger numbers of
partners homosexual males may have on average, relative to heterosexual
males. Alternatively, transmission could be partly or entirely by one or
more nonsexual routes, and homosexual orientation be a side effect of the
infection that is unrelated to transmission."

Oh, they also very gently and cheerfully think that black folks and latinos are inferior as well. They make all kinds of unfunny "white men can't jump" jokes. But they're racist scumbags.
