What do you need to do? We've been waiting more than thirty years, and we're ready.

12. June 14th is my birthday
I am a straight white married woman, but I can't think of a better way to celebrate this year! Best wishes to all those same-sex couples who marry this summer!

2. We looked into what we needed to do.
California doesn't have a waiting period. You can go in and have your license the same day. We are planning on taking a trip there some time in september. At least we will be legally married in one state.

3. Maybe two...surely Massachusetts wil recognize California marriages!
It almost makes me wish I weren't such a hermit. Maybe someone will ask me to be a witness or an usher or something, and I'll get to attend a real same-sex wedding in one of the two states (so far) that permit them. That would be a dream come true! All the best to you, and I hope your wedding is perfect and wonderful. :toast:

5. Partner mumbled something about feeding a bunch of freeloaders
So that eliminates 2 families. Gonna be a small one, maybe double, with neighbors.

Cause that takes about that long.

10. The restaurants are dying this time of year
This one will be small, kind of anticlimactic. Most our friends are long gone or wide spread. Partner hates my racist family, and they are very Gringo, while his family ,is just a little embarassed, by two open gay men, even tho we are now the elders of both families , so no hall , just a restaurant

13. And what a blessing it will be for the restaurant.
It's a good thing to start off a marriage by doing a mitzvah.

11. I wish I lived in California; I would be honored to officiate the nuptuals
I had a business for a few years as a humanist celebrant, doing non-religious weddings mostly with the occational other ceremony (three partings, three non-marriage unions, one adoption and one coming-of-age.) For this, I would waive all fees and work on a tips only basis for a month.

When equality comes to Washington State, I'll be ready :hi:

And congradulations, I hope you post the details after you get back.
