I am watching Jesus Christ Superstar
and am I nuts or is this the gayest thing ever. I am watching the last supper scene now and it looks like many of the dinner parties I have gone to with fellow gays. It is a decent musical but I can see why Andrew Lloyd Webber got in trouble for it.

6. you know he seemed
to carry some weight to having played Jesus-in other words he KNEW he has to be a good person in his life for the gift that role gave him-does that make sense? I mean I met him at a bar I was playing at and he actually returned my call and left us tickets just like he said he would.

7. I could see that
Not sure we would want a Russel Crowe type personality playing Jesus. Not to mention that Neeley is pretty easy on the eyes.

18. I've met him and Carl Anderson
My mom's a big Jesus Christ Superstar fan and has seen it over a dozen times with the cast from the film. She took me once when I was in high school. It was cold and there was snow on the ground but after the show we went to the back of the theater to try to catch them as they left because some of the people we were with wanted autographs. Ted Neeley came out first and took the time not just to sign but to speak to everyone. At one point he joked around with my mom about wanting to bring his wife and kids up to Boston from Texas so they could walk on water. When Carl Anderson came out there were dozens of people but he walked right up to me, put his hands on my face and called me gorgeous, then lectured me about my nose ring and said he didn't understand why "kids today" especially one so beautiful would do that to themself. He also stayed for awhile in the cold talking to people.

8. Is this the newest version? UPJr got the newest one and I really like it.
I find it highly amusing to watch punks singing the old songs I grew up with. Well acted and sung too.

11. Hell, it's the only decent thing Lloyd Webber ever did.
And a decent score. My favorite scene is "Could We Start Again, Please?"

It..is quite gay. I wonder if that's what Norman Jewison intended.

13. Anyone who enjoys JCS
might also like Elizabeth Cunningham's Mary Magdalene novels. The two currently out are Magdalene Rising (originally Daughter of the Shining Isles)and The Passion of Mary Magdalene. The third book is due out this year. Very different take on MM and an unusual Jesus.

I had to turn it off because there was no way I could buy the Tony-Maria thing

I think Tony wanted one of the Jets or Sharks but not Maria
